This project explores Juhani Pallasmaa's assertion that 'the door handle is the handshake of the building.'

 

Through the exploration of serial production through casting, I designed and prototyped a rockite door handle that was cast from a CNC-milled high-density urethane foam board. Constrains associated with the production of a mold and the casting process were integrated into the design for manufacturing workflow
